The state of Mon is located in southeastern Burma. It is bordered by the Andaman Sea to the south and west, the Tenasserim Hills to the east, and Kayin State to the north. The state has a population of 1.7 million people. The capital city of Mon State is Mawlamyaing. Other major cities include Thaton and Ye. The state has a tropical climate with monsoon rains from May to October.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit is between November and April, when the weather is at its most beautiful and comfortable. The Kyaik Htee yoe Pagoda festival is also held in February, so that's an ideal time to go.

How to get there

There are a few different ways to get to Mon State. The first is by plane. The second option is to take a bus. Thirdly, Mon State is also accessible by train. Finally, you can also reach Mon State by boat.
