The weather is also pleasant in Shan State, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Apart from mountainous attractions, it is also part of the trade road between India and China. It is also known for its numerous Buddhist temples and monasteries, which are packed into the Sagaing Hills. These hills are also home to many of Myanmar's most important monks and nuns, who come here to study and meditate.

The best time to visit the northern part of Myanmar would be October to April when is the weather is pleasant and dry. Since these regions are mainly hilly regions, it would be difficult to visit in rainy season which starts from June to October. Because of its heavy rain and some regions' difficult or muddy transportation make your trip delay or somewhat adventure. The best times for challenging and rewarding trekking to the snow-capped mountain is within December to May because in December, it is the lowest temperature of the year and the temperature is under minus degree sometime in some townships. You can see snow-capped mountains and some white snow on the grass or icy water. Because of the hilly region, the hiking or trekking is a must bucket list of your trip. For Sagaing, November and December are the perfect time to visit.

Northern part of Myanmar is accessible by all kinds of transportation except marine or cruise and travel by airline is the most-used one where is flown 3 main international airports of Myanmar – Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw. You can travel by land and air channel like express, private cars, planes or jets. Some use train to travel though it takes a bit longer than travelling with cars or airplane.
